Description

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.

We are looking for an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Quality team with an anticipated shift of 2pm-10:30pm for a limited duration role. This position will support the Quality Department by creating and optimizing CMM programs and fixtures capable of inspecting precision components for development and qualification purposes for a new project. We anticipate this role lasting approximately 6 months and it is eligible for benefits.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Generate CMM Programs using Zeiss Calypso CMM software based on product model or digital data.

  • Inspect NPI parts from new tools and tool rework.

  • Analyze CMM data and clearly report findings to engineering and production personnel.

  • Interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T.)

  • Attend quality manual standards training and apply quality standards accordingly.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 years minimum of experience programming CMM, required.

  • Previous experience with Calypso software, required.

  • Experience with model-based definition (MBD,) preferred.

  • Proficiently use hand measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, thread gauges, go/no go pins, and other measuring tools and equipment, preferred.

  • Excellent GD&T skills (ASME Y 14.5)

  • Experience with PiWeb software helpful.

  • High level of comfort using computers

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Understanding of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry

  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
