Primary Function:

Assemble, modify, rework and repair: Mechanical assemblies and sub assemblies, wire harnesses, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies. Application and/or removal of conformal coat to circuit boards. Some basic soldering to electronic circuit boards may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will perform work using assembly drawings, shop aids and detailed work instructions.

• Must be able to understand and work from engineering drawings and sketches and be able to follow exacting written as well as verbal work instructions

• Must be able to, with training, set up and operate typical production tools and equipment like thermal chamber ovens, wire cutting machines.

• Must be familiar with wire stripping and wire crimping, working with power supplies and Fluke Meters, component forming tools and equipment such as basic hand tools and torque wrenches.

• Primary basic skills in soldering and de-soldering SMT integrated circuits parts and through-hole parts on circuit boards preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

• Mechanical assembly skill, in an aviation application preferred.

• Soldering with the use of a microscope preferred.

• Component rework and repair experience preferred.

• Exposure to aviation FAA rules and Part 145 environment preferred.

• Current IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred.

• Ability to read and communicate in English.

• Ability to work within a team.

• High school or equivalent experience in manufacturing.

• Basic computer skills.

• Must be able to work independently, interpret assembly drawings and follow verbal/written

work instructions to produce a high quality product within the allotted time frame.

Safety Requirements:

• Must follow all safety requirements of the job as outlined in the safety policy

• May be required to handle hazardous waste and follow proper safety procedure for storage and disposal.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
